Funimation Brings Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry to North American Theaters

Funimation, America’s leading licensor/distributor of Japanese Anime, held a VIP premiere of Fairy Tail:Dragon Cry at the Ricardo Montalban Theater in Hollywood Thursday the 10th of August.

In attendance were plenty of the cast of the English dub, including Todd Haberkorn (Natsu Dragneel), Cherami Leigh (Lucy Heartfilia), Nathan Sharp (Gapri), and Christina Vee (Swan). Also spotted were Power Rangers Dino Charge’s Brennan Mejia and a selection of cosplayers.

Guests were treated to a screening of the movie, as well as snacks, beverages, a performance by a contortionist, and a magician.

Film Synopsis:

In the new film, based on the Hiro Mashima’s manga, Natsu Dragneel and his friends travel to the island Kingdom of Stella, where they will reveal dark secrets, fight the new enemies and once again save the world from destruction.

The movie will screen in approximately 300 U.S. and 12 Canadian theaters during its limited theatrical release which opens on August 14th across North America.
