Teen actor and musician Cameron J. Wright stars as “Mazzi McKellan” in NETFLIX’s “Family Reunion,” featuring an all-star ensemble cast including Tia Mowry (Sister, Sister), Loretta Devine (Madea’s Big Happy Family), and Richard Roundtree (Shaft). The second half of season 1 recently premiered on Netflix, and Cameron just went back to work filming season two of the hit series.
14-year-old Cameron toured in the production of “Motown: The Musical” in three iconic roles: a young Barry Gordy, a young Stevie Wonder and a young Michael Jackson. The musical was nominated for eleven 2016 NAACP Theatre Awards and won four of them.
He is also part of Nick Cannon‘s latest project, Ncredible Crazy Kids as lead singer of the teen super group. They are currently in the studio wrapping up their debut album.

Hello Cameron, before we get to your industry roles, tell us a little about yourself outside of show biz.
Besides music and acting, I really love amusement parks! I’m a roller coaster nerd and know everything about pretty much every roller coaster in the world.
Great! What’s been the best part about working on Family Reunion?
Definitely the cast! I love my Family Reunion family so much!
And the biggest challenge about being on the show?
The biggest challenge would probably be the fact that we receive a new script everyday. It can be challenging to keep up with the constant changes but you just have to stay focus and work hard.
What’s the funniest behind-the-scenes moment you’ve experienced on Family Reunion so far?
It’s always a laugh every time we are on set. I don’t think there is a particular moment, but there is a behind the scenes gag reel. I’m not sure if it’s going to get released but it is very funny.
You toured with “Motown: The Musical.” What’s your fondest memory from touring?
My fondest memory is getting to portray such iconic characters. To be able to play a young Michael Jackson and be a part of The Jackson 5 was definitely an amazing experience.
If you weren’t a performer, what other type of career would you be interested in pursuing?
If I wasn’t a musician or an actor I would probably want to design and build an amusement park.
Tell me something people would be surprised to know about you?
People would be surprised to know that I am a huge fan of the shows Survivor and The Masked Singer.
Biggest pet peeve?
My biggest pet peeve is bullying. Bullying is something that I wish the world could just get rid of because it messes with people’s lives.
Favorite subject in school and why?
My favorite subject is math. I really don’t know why, it just always has been.
Favorite food?
My favorite food is pasta.
Least favorite food?
My least favorite food is lobster.
If you could pass a law everyone in the world had to follow, what would it be?
The law would be that bullying is a crime. That would definitely help solve the bullying problem in the world.
Favorite YouTuber?
My favorite YouTuber is Coaster Studios.
What else are you working on or have coming up next?
I am working with my band called Ncredible Crazy Kids! We were founded by Nick Cannon and we have some incredible music on the way!
