We were just introduced to a new artist and we are glad we were. Meet Jacob Jobe, a 19-year-old from Tulsa, Oklahoma with dreams of making it big in the music industry, who has released his new song Come Back to Me on iTunes today. It is an R&B number about a girl who has walked out of his life and he is using everything is his power to win her back. The production value of the track is great, sounds like something that should be getting legit airplay, so don’t sleep on it.
Like a lot of young singers, Jacob started getting recognition by posting videos on YouTube, including covers of Justin Bieber (who’s singing style resembles his a bit) and Edwin McCain. His bio explains a bit more of his background:
“Growing up Jacob always was exposed to different genres of music from his parents. His dad introduced him to rock and country while his mother made him a fan of RnB, Hip-Hop, rap, Pop and DooWop. Being exposed to such diverse type of musicians, has helped mold Jacob and find his sound…Jacob doesn’t only like singing but he enjoys being part of the production and writing process of his music. His dad always played the guitar which helped Jacob develop his own guitar skills over the years. Now, Jacob is ready to push his career to the next level and give the legion of fans some original music.”
Let’s find out a little bit more:
Hi Jacob, nice to e-meet you! First off, tell us a little bit about yourself and what lead you to a path in music?
Hello! Nice to e-meet you as well! My full name is Jacob Parker Steven Jobe and I am a singer/songwriter. I love to sing and make music. I love creating my own original music and being able to perform it in front of people and connect with them!
And my mom I think is the one who lead me to a path in music. She brought out the creativity in me and saw that I was meant for the arts.
Tell us about your new song “Come Back to Me.” Who wrote and produced it?
My new song “Come Back To Me” is different than what everyone is doing out there right now. Everyone is doing like Pop/EDM and so my manager and I decided to shake it up a bit and start off with something people wouldn’t expect someone like me to do and go the RnB route.
My manager Michael Grammy and I wrote “Come Back To Me” and then ScareCrow Productions produced it.
Does it have some kind of personal meaning to you? Real life experience?
Yes it does have personal meaning to me. I actually wrote it about a previous relationship I had with a girl that lasted awhile and I still think about it all the time and still get new ideas for songs from that relationship. The title says it all, and especially listening to the song and hearing the lyrics you will know what I think about and how I feel about that girl.
What do you think is the best way to deal with heartbreak?
For me the best way to deal with heartbreak is to write about it. But before I started writing about it I would just listen to Drake 24/7! haha
Some Youtube commenters have thrown you some shade on your videos, what message do you want to send them?
Haha yes they have and honestly the message I want to send them is: I am who I am and if they don’t like what I’m doing don’t watch. I am going to take what they have to say into consideration and then I am just going to keep getting better and keep moving forward with what I love to do.
Tell me something people would be surprised to know about you?
I used to be obsessed with cowboys and I always wanted to own a farm and do cowboy things.
What is coming up next for you?
I have a lot of big things coming next, all thanks to my manager Michael but the biggest I think would be releasing all my new music and being able to go on tours and things like that!
Where can fans follow you on social media?
Fans can follow me on all social media! Twitter, Instagram, snapchat, soundcloud, and youtube! @iamjacobjobe
Anything else we should know?
