Born to an American father and Brazilian mother, twelve-year old Rita Angel Taylor got her start at the age of six guest starring on Nickelodeon’s “Sam & Cat.” She went on to recur on TV Land’s comedy “Teachers” and a series regular role on “Sunnyside Up” from Brat TV and YouTube with Annie LeBlanc.
She made her music debut as a street performer in Las Vegas at the age of seven, drawing large crowds with her dynamic voice and musical talents.
She is currently the youngest goodwill ambassador for CARE.org, a global leader within a worldwide movement dedicated to ending poverty, and released her first single “For My Girls” (2019) to raise awareness and help girls in need across the globe.
Rita will continue to share her music with the world, releasing her sophomore single “Run or Hide” with CARE.org in summer 2020 to help youth struggling with mental health.
On the television front, she recently booked a series regular role as ‘Lilly Castillo’ in the buzzworthy NBC pilot “La Brea.”
La Brea holds a special place in her heart.
My best and most memorable showbiz moment so far was when I booked my first series regular on the NBC pilot “La Brea.” I was so excited about it because I’ve worked really hard for this. I went on so many auditions to finally get a really cool part in a sci-fi drama which is a dream come true!!
She’s got big goals.
My overall goal in the entertainment industry would definitely be to win an Oscar and a Grammy… or multiple Oscars and Grammys.
The coronavirus quarantine hasn’t slowed her down.
One good thing I have done thanks to the quarantine is write more songs. I have always found time for writing music, but right now I just have even more time!
She will graduate school faster than usual.
Something people would be surprised to know about me would be that I am two grades ahead in school. I never skipped any grades, I just got done with them faster because I’m homeschooled 🙂
She’s a fan of something corny. “Corn”-y, get it?
An amazing food I eat at least once a week (more like everyday lol) is Brazilian cuscuz. It’s not like American couscous which is a sort of pasta… it’s made of just ground corn and is sooo good. I sometimes eat it with milk or eggs.
